Having spent his entire career attempting to earn a first-team place at a major club, Denis Suarez isn't about to let his dream of playing for Barcelona slip away. With top teams such as Manchester City and Villarreal already on his CV, the Spaniard admits that he's had to dig deep to find a path to the top. "[It's been] very complicated, when I left Celta Vigo for City it was to succeed in football and after two years in Manchester, I moved to Barcelona," said the midfielder to MARCA. "I was Marseille Fußballtrikot given two years in which I tried to win a first-team spot. It was only when I did well at Sevilla and Villarreal that they took me back to Barcelona. Now that I'm there, no one is going to push me out. I will fight to the death for many years of success in Barcelona." It was very much a season of two halves for Suarez who remains a little surprised that his opportunities were cut down significantly after the turn of the year. "You always expect everything to go well," he continued. "I started playing quite a lot and having more prominence. After the Christmas break I returned to a great level, scoring goals and giving assists, but then my progression was cut back a little. "I stopped entering the line-ups. In the middle of the park there were people of a very high level, but I always look for the positive side of things. I'm at a big club like Barcelona, I see it as a first year of learning and next season I'm going to fight to Liverpool Fußballtrikot the death." Harbouring hopes of a World Cup place with the Spanish national side, the 23-year-old is currently with the Under-21 squad for the European Championship in Poland. "The objective of next year is to have a good season, play the maximum possible minutes, start at Barcelona and thus be at the World Cup," said Suarez. "In Spain the most difficult position to be selected in is the centre of midfield, there are great players and we have many who want to be there. I will do everything in my power."
